fledgling companies by providing entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services.A business
incubator’s main goal is to produce successful companies that will leave the program financially viable and
freestanding. These incubator graduates have the potential to create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, commercialize
new technologies, and strengthen local and national economies.
Critical to the definition of an incubator is the provision of management guidance, technical assistance and
consulting tailored to young growing companies. Incubators usually also provide clients access to appropriate
rental space and flexible leases, shared basic business services and equipment, technology support services
and assistance in obtaining the financing necessary for company growth.

There are two type of programmes a client can apply for: 3-year programme incubation programme and 1-year outreach programme. To apply contact the closest branch for application forms. New intake adverts are published on most of the
local and national newspapers, interested clients should keep a look out. For effective selection to the programme applicants will be put through a skills audit interview for the
development of individual support programme.

The programme targets emerging contractors who have achieved a financial grading of 3 or higher in any of
the construction disciplines (3 year mainstream programme)
o Civil Engineering
o General Building
o Electrical Engineering
o Mechanical Engineering and
o Specialized construction on the register of contractors administered by the CIDB.
No, the directory will list contractors who are part of the programme only. But contractors who are not part of the programme are welcome to advertise in the directory..
The directory will be distributed to all industry bodies in the country. There will be a hard copy and electronic copy that will also be published on the SCI website.
No, the SCI programme offers emerging contractors business and technical mentorship only. Though we do
host events and seminars with financial institutions during the three years of the programme.
